KittyBean Beanut Baby Layette Set | Cardigan Pants Hat | KittyBea Knitting Pattern Download

$9.00

I’m very excited to be releasing my first KittyBean pattern and bonus: it uses my first KittyBean yarn, Boca. I created KittyBean out of necessity. I had very good friends with due dates within a month of each other and needed cute knitwear patterns for gifts. When I found Boca, I instantly fell in love with its super soft, smooth texture. Its essentially Pima Cotton fibers, with a light wrap holding them together. It knits up beautifully and gives wonderful stitch definition.

This pattern is included in the KittyBean Beanut Baby Boca Kit (the buttons and yarn are also included!)

  • 5 Buttons (approx. 5/8”/16mm)
  • Waste yarn and/or stitch holder(s)
  • Tapestry needle

The Cardigan begins bottom up, then is separated into Front and Back pieces. Shoulders are seamed using Three-Needle bind off or mattress stitch. The Front/Button Band is picked-up and knitted, adding buttonholes. Once the sleeve stitches are picked-up, they are worked in the round. For the Sample, I used 5/8” (16mm) buttons (included in the KittyBean Beanut Boca Kit). The Britches begin at the waist and use a three-needle join to create the waistband. An i-cord tie is made and pulled through the waistband, making it adjustable...and to do a proper gauge swatch.
